CURRENT RESEARCH (Page under preparation)

The design of the 5th generation cellular systems is uderway. LTE-A release 11 is completed and release 12 is ongoing. Many new features are added to LTE to enhance its physical layer efficiency. The IEEE Communications Magazine issue of February 2014 includes several articles on the features of 5G. Also the IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications issue of June 2014 is devoted for 5G Wireless Communications.

Currently our research focus is on:

  • LTE Heterogeneous Networks (HetNet)
  • Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) in LTE
  • Coordinated Multipoint Comp) in LTE

Latest Publications:

  • Mohamed Aboul Hassan, Essam Sourour, Shawky Shaaban, "Novel resource allocation algorithm for improving reuse one scheme performance in LTE networks," 2014 21st International Conference on Telecommunications (ICT), vol. 1, pp.166 to 170, 4-7 May 2014
